Overview

Cashmere knitwear made to your specification

Cashmere is the fibre buyers notice first and forgive least. Handfeel, pilling behaviour, shrinkage after washing and colour consistency between lots all decide whether a cashmere sweater sells at full price. Our role as a cashmere sweater manufacturer is to turn your brief into a garment that holds those qualities from the approved sample to the last piece of bulk.

We work in two ways. As an OEM partner we knit to your tech pack — measurements, yarn composition, gauge, stitch and finishing. As an ODM partner we adapt one of our existing sample styles, so you can launch faster with your own colours, trims and labels. Either route starts with a physical sample that you approve before bulk production is booked.

Buyer Guide

How to compare cashmere sweater quotes

Two cashmere quotes can differ widely in price and still both say "100% cashmere". The difference usually sits in four places: fibre quality, yarn count, garment weight and finishing. Longer, finer fibres spin into smoother yarn that pills less; shorter fibres are cheaper but wear faster. Ask each supplier to state the yarn count and the finished garment weight for the same size, so you are comparing like with like.

Gauge changes the equation again. A 12-gauge sweater uses finer yarn and more knitting time per panel than a 7-gauge sweater, while a chunky 3-gauge knit uses much more yarn by weight. Fix the gauge and target weight on the sample, then ask for prices on that basis rather than on a description.

Blends are a legitimate tool, not a compromise, when they are declared. Cashmere–wool improves durability and lowers cost; cashmere–silk adds sheen and drape; cashmere–cotton suits lighter seasons. Many boutique ranges use pure cashmere for two or three hero styles and blends for the rest of the assortment.

Finally, budget for sampling and colour approval. Cashmere takes dye differently from wool, so a colour approved on a wool swatch may shift. Approving lab dips or a coloured sample in the final yarn avoids surprises in bulk, and keeping the approved sample as the production reference protects your reorders.

Specification

Cashmere quality: what we agree with you before sampling

Composition and blend

Pure cashmere or a stated blend percentage, confirmed on the yarn order and on the care label. Blends are a deliberate price and durability choice, never a hidden substitution.

Gauge and weight

Fine gauges (12–16) give a light, refined fabric; medium and chunky gauges (5–7, 3) give warmth and texture. Gauge drives garment weight, knitting time and price, so we fix it at the sampling stage.

Handfeel and finishing

Washing and finishing set the final softness. We agree the target handfeel on the sample so bulk is finished to the same standard.

Pilling and wash behaviour

Some surface pilling is natural in cashmere. Yarn quality, twist and knit density reduce it; we can arrange third-party testing when your buyers require reports.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the MOQ for custom cashmere sweaters?

Custom cashmere designs start from 100 pieces per style. Existing catalogue styles can be ordered from 1 piece per colour, which many boutique brands use to test a style before a custom run.

Do you make pure cashmere or blends?

Both. We produce pure cashmere and cashmere blended with wool, silk or cotton. The composition is agreed on the quote and shown on the care label.

How long does cashmere sampling take?

Catalogue styles sample in about 7 days. Custom developments depend on yarn sourcing and construction; we confirm the sampling timeline with your quote.

What gauge should I choose for a cashmere sweater?

Fine gauges (12–16) suit lightweight, refined sweaters and layering pieces. Medium gauges (7–9) give a classic everyday weight, and chunky gauges (3–5) suit textured winter styles. We advise based on your silhouette and price target.

Can you add our brand labels and packaging?

Yes. We apply your woven labels, care labels and hang tags, and pack to your specification for retail or e-commerce.

Do you ship cashmere orders to the US and Europe?

Yes. We work with boutique and emerging brands in the US, UK and EU; shipping terms and export documents are confirmed per order.
